I HAVE A RIGHT TO A TOILET!
It was a day of celebration at the primary school in Kounoune when the toilets were opened.
Pupils, parents, teachers, school authorities, the mayor, the press and the project team – the village of Kounoune celebrated! Everyone involved in the realisation of the toilets, from the craftsmen to our project manager Ousman Sow, were introduced and celebrated. There were many touching and motivating speeches from those responsible. For example, the teachers explained how the toilets are used hygienically so that they remain usable for all pupils for as long as possible.
A successful conclusion to a successful project. On behalf of all the pupils, we would like to thank you for your generous support.
Without you, there would still be no toilets at the primary school in Kounoune!
Thank you very much,
GNG team in Berlin <3
Here are a few impressions from the project
In the villages of Senegal, the inhabitants are not woken by the cockcrow, but by the thud of the rammers in the millet mortars.
From 6 o’clock in the morning, in the middle of the dark night, the women get to work pounding the millet they need for the day’s meals.
This activity takes up an enormous amount of time and energy that could be used for other tasks.
What does the village of Kounoune plan to do to make the women’s work easier?
